Cinna: Truly, My name is Cinna.
First Plebeian : tear him to pieces! He's a conspirator.
Cinna: I am Cinna the poet! I am Cinna the poet!
Fourth Plebeian : tear him for his bad verses! tear him for his bad verses!
Cinna : I am not Cinna the conspirator!
Fourth Plebeian : It is no matter, his name's Cinna; pluck but his name out of his heart, and turn his going.
they attack him
This passage was the most important in this scene because it shows how the Romans are passionate to find Caesars and at the same time very capricious and impulsive. They're are going to attack an innocent man just because he shares the Cinna the conspirator. This scene shows the Romans in a bad light and makes them seem very impulsive. At the same time is shows that they still love Caesar and are loyal too him in a weird way. Thats the way I say it.
Questions
Im confused why would the Romans attack the wrong Cinna knowing it the wrong Cinna ? SMH
How does Cinna know Caesar ?
Are these Plebeians the same ones from the other acts ?

ReplyDeletei'm guessing Cinna knew Caesar because he's naturally a poet? idk!
i'm guessing?!
Its really hard to tell u know cuz we never really knew them beside Plb1 or plb 2 or plb3 ..u know but i think they might be because they obviously knew well about seeking revenge..i mean u get what im trying to say ??
ReplyDeletemaybe they just dont accept the fact that they commited a mistake in confusing the poet for the conspirator ..u know why not just get rid of both??
